The more you know about SCRABBLE at SUBWAY®, the more you'll love playing. So take a look at these FAQs for the answers you need. Sorry, we cannot answer questions like, "Will I win the $100,000 Jackpot?" and "When will I get the ‘H' I need to win a 3rd Generation Prius?" But we wish we could!

HOW TO CHANGE YOUR SCREEN RESOLUTION

Q.

The Web site/Game Board looks too big on my computer screen: Part of the image is cut off and I have to scroll around to see it all, which makes it difficult to play some of my Letter Tiles. What should I do?

A.

It appears that your monitor's screen resolution is not set for correct viewing of the SCRABBLE at SUBWAY® game. Your resolution may be set for 800 x 600. As a result, you may have difficulty playing some of your Letter Tiles. SCRABBLE at SUBWAY® is optimized for a resolution of 1024 x 768. Once you resize your screen resolution to 1024 x 768 (see instructions below), you will see the entire Game Board without scrolling. NOTE: Many computer monitors are capable of screen resolutions greater than 800 x 600. If, however, your monitor does not have this capability, you will have to use the scroll bars on the side and bottom of the screen to navigate around the Game Board. We also suggest that you open your browser window so that it fills the entire screen. On a PC using Internet Explorer, Firefox or Google Chrome, you can press F11. For other computers/browsers, simply click and drag the window so that it fills the entire screen, or, on a PC, press the "maximize" icon on the top right of the browser window.

Here's how to change your screen resolution:

PC users running Internet Explorer or Firefox:

  1. Open up the "Start Menu"
  2. Select "Settings"
  3. Select "Control Panel" from the drop-down menu
  4. Double-click on "Display" icon
  5. Click on the "Settings" tab
  6. In the "Screen Resolution" area, click and drag the status bar to 1024x768
  7. Click "Apply" then OK.

You can also increase the viewing area by hiding the information/status bar that appears on either the top or the bottom of the screen. To do this:

  1. Click on View in the top menu bar
  2. Click on Status Bar in the drop-down menu. If the status bar was present before, it will now disappear, thereby slightly increasing the viewing area of the screen

Mac users running Safari/Firefox:

  1. Double-click on "System Preferences" from the dock or in the drop-down menu under the Apple icon on top
  2. In the "Hardware" section, double-click on "Displays"
  3. Select 1024x768 option. Images will resize automatically.

You can also increase the viewing area by hiding the information/status bar that appears on either the top or the bottom of the screen. To do this:

WHAT TO DO IF YOU GET A "POP-UP BLOCKED" MESSAGE

Q.

I get a message in a bar that says, "Pop-up blocked. To see this pop-up or additional options click here..." What should I do?

A.

With some browsers under certain circumstances that message might show up. To see the pop-up that was blocked, simply click on the bar with the message and then click on either "Temporarily Allow Pop-ups" or "Always Allow Pop-ups from This Site." The page will then reload. You will need to log in again. Selecting "Always Allow Pop-ups from This Site" should prevent this from happening each time.

The SCRABBLE at SUBWAY® Game begins in participating SUBWAY® restaurants in the 50 United States on August 17, 2009 at 08:00:01 AM CT and ends October 04, 2009 at 10:59:59 PM CT, or when supplies of the Official Game Pieces are depleted. Food and beverage prizes must be claimed by end of business on October 18, 2009 at a participating SUBWAY® restaurant. All other prizes must be claimed online at www.subwayfreshbuzz.com by October 18, 2009 at 10:59:59 PM CT.

Who can play the SCRABBLE at SUBWAY® Game?

A.

You can play if you are a legal resident of the fifty (50) United States, or Washington, D.C., and will be thirteen (13) years of age or older at the time of registration or participation, except residents of Maine, who need to be eighteen (18) years of age or older at the time of registration or participation. People who fall into any of the following categories are NOT eligible to participate or win prizes: (a) any person who, at any time on or after August 1, 2009, was or is a director, officer, or employee of Subway Franchisee Advertising Fund Trust, SUBWAY® restaurants, Doctor's Associates Inc., Hasbro Inc., Fuze Beverages LLC, Frito-Lay, Inc., The Coca-Cola Company, Toyota Motor Sales, U.S.A., Inc., Electronic Arts, Inc., Foot Locker Retail, Inc., d/b/a Champs Sports®, Live Nation®, 24Hour Fitness, Inc., Beaches® Resorts, or their parents, subsidiaries, franchisees, or service agencies; (b) individuals engaged in the development, production or distribution of materials for the Promotion or engaged in the administration or execution of this Promotion; and (c) people who claim to be immediate family members of any person in any of the preceding categories, regardless of where they live, or who reside in the same household. How old do I have to be to play?

No, your entry will be voided if you are younger than 13 years of age (18 years of age for residents of Maine) at time of registration.

Can my entire family participate in this Game?

A.

Yes, as long as each participant is a legal U.S. resident currently residing in the 50 United States (including Washington, D.C.) who is 13 years of age or older at time of registration or participation, except residents of Maine, who need to be eighteen (18) years of age or older at the time of registration or participation. If you don't have Internet access at home, you can play the Online Instant Win portion of the Game using the free Internet access that is available in many public libraries. You can't play if you are an employee of the Sponsor or any of our partners or affiliates, or if you are a family member of any of those employees. See Official Game Rules. Do I need to buy something in order to enter to win prizes?

How do I obtain an Official Game Piece?

There are two ways to get an Official Game Piece and/or an Official Mystery Letter Code during the Game Piece Collection Period.

  1. With purchase: You can get one (1) Official Game Piece when you purchase any specially marked 21 oz. fountain drink, 32 oz. fountain drink, or 44 oz. fountain drink, while supplies last. The 32 oz. and 44 oz. fountain drink cups will feature an "Extra Play" (i.e., two [2] In-Restaurant Instant Win Game Pieces and two [2] Collect & Win and Online Instant Win Game Pieces instead of one [1] of each), plus one (1) "Bonus Reward" (consisting of a 20% off discount coupon to be used at participating Champs Sports Stores and www.champssports.com. What is an Official Game Piece?

A.

The Official Game Piece consists of two (2) parts and allows you to participate in three (3) SCRABBLE AT SUBWAY® games. The In-Restaurant Instant Win portion of the Official Game Piece reveals whether or not you've instantly won a prize. The Collect & Win portion of the Official Game Piece reveals a SCRABBLE Letter and Game Code, which you must collect to complete Winning Words and win prizes. Your Collect & Win Game Code, when registered online, also automatically allows you to participate in the Online Instant Win game to win other prizes.

Why does the Game Code on my sub wrap have a question mark printed near it?

A.

Specially marked sandwich wrappers will feature an "Official Mystery Letter Code". Official Mystery Letter Codes are not unique and can be redeemed online for up to a maximum of four (4) Collect & Win Game letters per registered user, with a maximum of one (1) letter per calendar day, and one (1) Online Instant Win Game play per day. Letters available for redemption with an Official Mystery Letter Code are "R", "O", "U" and "L". Mystery Letters are assigned in random order; however, you will not receive the same letter more than once. A Mystery Letter Code will also allow you to play the online Instant Win Game for every Mystery Letter Code entered for a maximum of four (4) Instant Win Game plays.

Can I win more than one prize?

A.

There is a limit of five (5) prizes a person can win in the Promotion, with the following two exceptions:

  1. (a) A player can only win one (1) of the top four prizes ($100,000 Jackpot, 3rd Generation Prius Vehicle, Beaches® Resorts Vacation, and Live Nation® VIP Concert Experience); and (b) A player may only win one (1) 90-Day 24 HOUR Fitness One-Club Membership. A single entrant is allowed to win only one (1) of the top four prizes, regardless of whether the prize is won playing the In-Restaurant Instant Win Game, Collect & Win Game or the Online Instant Win Game. For example, an entrant winning a $100,000 prize cannot win a second $100,000 prize, nor can he/she win a 3rd Generation Prius Vehicle, or a Beaches® Resorts Vacation Package prize, or a Live Nation® VIP Concert Experience. And, a participant who wins one (1) 90-Day 24 HOUR Fitness One-Club Membership may not win another 90-Day 24 HOUR Fitness One-Club Membership.

Can I substitute or transfer a prize?

A.

No. Because millions of prizes are being offered, substitution is not possible. Transfer of prizes is expressly prohibited.

Q.

Do I have to pay taxes on prizes? When do I have to pay?

A.

For prize values greater than $600, winners will be issued a Miscellaneous 1099 form to fill out as part of their prize verification process. 1099s will be mailed in the year that follows the year in which the prize was won and should be included with the winner's income tax return. All taxes on or connected with any prize are the sole responsibility of the winner of that prize.

How do I claim my food or beverage prize?

A.

If you have won a food or beverage prize, you may redeem it at a participating SUBWAY® restaurant, subject to verification and compliance with the Official Rules. You must present your winning Official Game Piece prior to placing an order for the prize named and surrender the In-Restaurant Instant Win portion of your Official Game Piece once the order has been placed (be sure to keep the Collect & Win portion of your Official Game Piece). You may only redeem a food or beverage prize during the normal hours that the prize named is served at a SUBWAY® restaurant. You cannot combine In-Restaurant Instant Win Game Pieces with any other coupon or offer. The deadline for claiming food or beverage prizes is 10/18/09 at the end of business.

How do I claim my In-Restaurant Instant Win non-food or non-beverage prize?

Q.

For the In-Restaurant Instant Win Game, how long will it take to verify if I am an Official Winner?

A.

It depends on the prize. You will know right away whether or not you have won a Food or Beverage prize. You can claim Food and Beverage Instant Win prizes when you place a future order at a participating Subway restaurant, provided you have met eligibility requirements as stated in the Official Rules. To claim all other In-Restaurant Instant Win prizes, you will need to provide more detailed information concerning your eligibility and may be required to send your winning Official Game Piece via registered mail to a SCRABBLE at SUBWAY® Games Administrator so that it may be authenticated. Some In-Restaurant Instant Win prizes will be shipped or e-mailed soon after the winners are verified. Others will not be delivered until after the promotion has ended and may take 8-10 weeks for delivery. The exception is the 3rd Generation Prius, which will take up to 120 days or longer to deliver after prize verification has been made. You will be told approximately how long you will need to wait to receive your prize when you have been verified as a winner. Are there any limits to how many winning In-Restaurant Instant Win Game Pieces I can redeem?

A.

In-Restaurant Instant Win Game Pieces with food/beverage prize winning messages may be redeemed on a future order, but may not be redeemed on the order for which that In-Restaurant Instant Win Game Piece was received. There is a limit of five (5) prizes a person can win in the Promotion, with the following two exceptions:

  1. Are there any restrictions for redeeming an In-Restaurant Instant Win Food or Beverage Prize?

A.

There are no food or beverage prize substitutions, except at the sole discretion of the participating SUBWAY® restaurant. You can only redeem a food or beverage prize on future orders and during the normal hours of operation that the restaurant serves the item named on the Official Game Piece. You can't combine winning Instant Win Game Pieces with any other coupons or offers.

Q.

What is included in my SUBWAY® Flatbread prize?

A.

The SUBWAY® Flatbread prize consists of a Regular Flatbread OR Regular 6" sub. If you wish to add extra meat or extra cheese, you are responsible for any additional costs, including taxes.

Q.

I tried to redeem my food prizes, but the restaurant would not accept it. What should I do?

A.

We develop programs that appeal to our operators and encourage all of our restaurants to participate. The majority of SUBWAY® restaurants are happy to offer these benefits to their customers. However, we also encourage our franchise operators to be entrepreneurs and run their businesses independently - this means they have the option to participate in this promotion or not. A small minority of locations may choose not to participate. If that is the case at your local SUBWAY® restaurant, you are welcome to redeem your prize at any participating SUBWAY® restaurant.

Why can I only redeem one food or beverage prize per order?

A.

We are sorry, but our store operations systems do not permit redemption of multiple free food prizes on a single order.

How do I play the Collect & Win Game?

A.

Peel off the Official Game Piece on the 21 oz., 32 oz., or 44 oz. fountain drink cup from its backing. There are extra chances to win on 32 oz. and 44 oz. fountain drinks. Separate the Collect & Win half of your Game Piece from the Instant Win half. You must keep the Collect & Win portion of the Official Game Piece in order to play and claim Collect & Win Prizes. You can also find Game Codes on specially marked packaging, which includes any specially marked SUBWAY® sub wrap, SUNCHIPS® Spicy Chipotle Multigrain Snacks bag, apple slices packaging, and advertising/marketing materials. Game Codes have 12 (twelve) characters that can be played online or offline. You will need Adobe Flash Player 9.0.28 or higher to play the Game Code online. If you do not have Adobe Flash Player 9.0.28 or higher, your browser will automatically be directed to a Web site where you may download the latest version for free. If you need to upgrade but your browser does not automatically direct you to the Web site, visit www.Adobe.com for help. If you choose to play online, go to www.subwayfreshbuzz.com and follow the directions to register. Once registered, you will need to enter the Game Code first to begin playing the Online Instant Win Game and then the Collect & Win Game. Each time you enter a new Game Code, you will automatically be entered to play the Online Instant Win Game. After you have been notified if you are the potential winner of an Online Instant Win prize or not by a message that pops up onscreen, you will have the opportunity to return to playing the Collect & Win Game.
